Geoff joined Lions in 1976 and was sponsored by
Charter Member Gordon Prosser.
Affectionately known as “Handbrake”
because of his first love—(Trotting Horses) Geoff
has been a reliable and hardworking Lion for 27
years.
He has served his club as President
1988—1989, and is now entering his 13th term as
Treasurer.
A couple of years ago we were all quite
worried when Geoff was flown to Adelaide seriously
ill, but like a good pacer entering the home
straight, he buckled down and finished his stay at
Royal Adelaide Hospital strongly. In fact he had
quite a torrid time and a lengthy recovery and we
were all delighted to see him back on his feet.
Geoff is now our Father Christmas with the Christmas
Sleigh cake sales each year and the number of hours
he puts into this project is enormous.
Whether it be the Chip Van, BBQ’s, Christmas Cakes,
Blue Light Disco. Snapper Fishing Championships or
in fact any activity Geoff is a familiar face.
